About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic, result-oriented and commercially driven Associate Manager – Business Development & Tender to join our construction team in Kathmandu.

This is not a tender-only position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing tender and bid processes, strengthening market presence, building relationships with clients and stakeholders, and supporting the company's overall business growth.

The candidate should understand the construction and infrastructure sector and be capable of converting market opportunities into actual business. Strong documentation, communication, negotiation and coordination skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Growth

●       Identify new business opportunities in construction, infrastructure and related sectors.

●       Research upcoming projects, clients, government/private opportunities, partnerships and potential markets.

●       Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

●       Generate leads and convert qualified opportunities into potential projects.

●       Support the development and implementation of business development strategies.

●       Represent the company professionally in meetings, networking events and industry interactions.

2. Tender & Business Proposal Management

●       Monitor and identify relevant tenders, EOI, RFQs, RFPs and other project opportunities.

●       Review tender documents, eligibility requirements, scope of work, submission requirements and contractual conditions.

●       Coordinate with technical, finance, legal, procurement and project teams for tender preparation.

●       Prepare, compile and maintain complete tender and proposal documentation.

●       Ensure timely and accurate submission of bids and proposals.

●       Maintain a systematic database of submitted, awarded and unsuccessful tenders.

3. Market Development & Company Branding

●       Identify opportunities to strengthen the company's position and visibility in the construction market.

●       Support corporate branding, company presentations, capability statements and business proposals.

●       Develop professional company profiles, project credentials and marketing materials in coordination with management.

●       Track market trends, competitors and upcoming construction/infrastructure projects.

4. Documentation, Contracts & Subcontractor Coordination

●       Maintain proper records of tender documents, contracts, agreements, correspondence and project-related documentation.

●       Support preparation and review of subcontractor-related documentation and agreements.

●       Coordinate documentation between the company, subcontractors, consultants, clients and project teams.

●       Ensure proper filing and traceability of commercial and contractual documents.

●       Coordinate with the legal/administrative team whenever required.

5. Management Support

●       Prepare business development reports, tender status reports and opportunity pipelines for management.

●       Provide regular updates on potential projects, market opportunities and business prospects.

●       Assist management in negotiations, client meetings and strategic business discussions.

●       Perform other business development, tendering and administrative responsibilities as assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

●       Proactive, ambitious and strongly business-oriented.

●       Experienced in the construction/infrastructure sector.

●       Capable of identifying opportunities rather than simply responding to tenders.

●       Strong in tender documentation and proposal preparation.

●       Good at communication, negotiation and relationship management.

●       Familiar with construction contracts, subcontractor documentation and commercial correspondence.

●       Able to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with multiple departments.

●       Comfortable communicating with clients, consultants, government authorities, subcontractors and business partners.

●       Strong in MS Office and professional documentation.

●       Willing to travel or attend meetings outside the office when required.

Preferred Qualifications

●       BE Civil Engineering — highly preferred, particularly for candidates with strong construction-sector exposure.

●       LLB — an added advantage, particularly for contract, tender and legal-documentation responsibilities.

●       Candidates with a combination of technical, legal and commercial/business development experience will be strongly preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

●       Number and quality of new business opportunities identified.

●       Qualified project leads generated and converted.

●       Number and value of tenders/proposals successfully submitted.

●       Tender submission accuracy and compliance.

●       New client and stakeholder relationships developed.

●       Business revenue/project opportunities generated.

●       Market intelligence and opportunity pipeline maintained.

●       Quality and completeness of contractual and subcontractor documentation.

●       Contribution to company branding and market visibility.

What We Offer

●       Opportunity to work with a growing construction and infrastructure organization.

●       Exposure to major construction projects, tendering and business development.

●       Direct involvement in strategic business growth initiatives.

●       Professional growth and career development opportunities.

●       Competitive remuneration based on experience and capability.
